Gaia Artworks is delighted to share that founder and artist Drithi Bopanna Puliyanda has been featured in the UK Kodava Community Newsletter March 2025 - A heartfelt recognition that celebrates her artistic journey and cultural heritage.
Drithi hails from the Kodava (Coorg) community, a small martial group nestled in the lush hills of South-Western India. With ancestral ties tracing back to ancient Indo-Greek origins, the Kodava culture is rich, resilient and deeply rooted in tradition. Today, it is upheld by a dwindling yet passionate global diaspora.
To be spotlighted as an artist within this community is more than an accolade - it is a moment of cultural affirmation. Through Gaia Artworks, Drithi continues to explore the power of art as a vessel for storytelling, preservation, and emotional resonance. Her work often weaves together elements of nature, architecture, and introspection and she is increasingly incorporating motifs and narratives from her Kodava heritage.
This feature marks a meaningful milestone in her commitment to honouring and sharing the Coorg identity across platforms. As she expands her collections and collaborations, Drithi remains devoted to fostering cultural continuity through mindful, evocative art.
